When donors ask a nonprofit if it has an endowment fund, they are either interested in making a gift to it or assessing whether the nonprofit has a foundation in place to ensure its long-term sustainability. All too often, the nonprofit’s answer is “no.” Why? Because setting up an endowment can seem daunting to a nonprofit.
Anne Arundel Community Development Services (ACDS) and the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County (CFAAC) invite nonprofit staff, board, and volunteers to attend a series of five nonprofit skills workshops designed to help nonprofits gain the knowledge they need to sustain and grow their organizations. Each workshop is offered twice — once in-person and once virtual.
In this issue of the CFAAC Community Connector, you will find information about CFAAC staffing updates, new funds, scholarships and grants, community events, news for professional advisors, and more.
The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County launched its Professional Advisors Recognition Society at the 2022 Celebration of Philanthropy, naming six inductees to its inaugural class—Karen M. Whaley is one of the first members to receive this honor.
