Call the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County today at 410-280-1102 to discuss your philanthropic goals and needs.

At the Community Foundation, we help individuals, families and businesses plan and carry out their charitable giving in a way that fits their philanthropic goals and financial circumstances.  We provide donors of both modest and substantial means with numerous avenues for contributing to our community — and because we are a public charity, contributions qualify for maximum deductibility for income, gift and estate tax purposes.

Creating your fund with the Community Foundation is fairly simple.

The first step is to call to discuss your philanthropic goals to determine which type of fund best fits your needs. We will be glad to provide information about our services - including investment management, grantmaking expertise, and explain our fee structure. To establish a new fund with the name of your choice, a contribution of $5,000 or more is needed.

We offer a variety of funds that are flexible to meet our donors' different charitable interests:

Unrestricted Funds offer the broadest giving option, allowing grants to be made wherever our community's needs are the greatest.  A gift made to this endowment enables the Community Foundation’s board to always respond to our community's greatest needs.

Field of Interest Funds create grants that meet needs in a particular field or geographic area that is of interest to you. You can also create a fund to support a general cause - such  as 'children' or 'animals' - and instruct the Community Foundation’s staff to make grant recommendations and charitable distributions on your behalf.

Donor-Advised Funds enable you to recommend specific organizations to receive grants. These funds operate just like a private foundation, allowing donors to recommend distributions from their "personal foundations" to specific organizations, or fields of interest.

Scholarship Funds help students pursue academic goals. You may define guidelines for candidacy, the advisory committee, the school and the award itself. You can establish criteria for awarding scholarships, such as specific disciplines, areas of study, and particular schools.

Designated Funds let you support specific organizations while we make sure that grants to these groups remain relevant over time and responsive to changing circumstances. These sort of funds make annual gifts to a specific non-profit agency (or agencies) that you wish to support.

Agency Endowment Funds enable an agency to establish its own fund at the Community Foundation. The Community Foundation handles the investment and management of the assets, distributing the earnings to the agency. These funds are established by the board of directors of a non-profit agency to provide permanent support for its programs or operations.
