Mission & Objective

Founded by a group of community-minded citizens who wanted to ensure a permanent source of funds for our local charitable organizations, the Community Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life for all people in Anne Arundel County by:

* Building and managing an endowment of charitable asset
* Responding to community needs
* Helping donors achieve their charitable objectives while strengthening the community
* Serving as a catalyst for community problem solving, and
* Fostering greater giving and new philanthropy in our community

The Community Foundation enables all people with philanthropic interests to support the issues they care about in our community, easily and effectively. We work to create long-term assets to support the quality of life for the residents of Anne Arundel County.

We offer donors a wide variety of options for giving—establishing permanent endowments, creating flexible donor-advised funds, or donating to existing funds here at CFAAC.  From these funds, grants are made to address a wide-variety of current and long-term needs in our community.  Currently the Foundation has 40 different funds providing support to our county.

We provide wise stewardship of donor funds through a balanced and diversified investment strategy guided by our Board and Finance & Asset Management Committe with advice from our professional investment managements firm.

Each year we award thousands of dollars in scholarships and grants to the many educational, humanitarian, and cultural organizations that make this county a great place to live.
