The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County (CFAAC) through its grant program, Ladders to Success, is investing in local nonprofit organizations that provide opportunities for disadvantaged or vulnerable Anne Arundel County residents to live healthy, vibrant and successful lives. The Ladders program invites proposals from local nonprofits in two broad areas - Investing in Education & Youth and Investing in Training & Economic Opportunity. To be successful, proposed activities must demonstrate a clear and measurable connection to helping disadvantaged or vulnerable residents[i] of Anne Arundel County meet the program goals of academic advancement and/or economic sustainability. With this round of funding, the Foundation looks to build upon the success of our inaugural Ladders grants.
The 2010 Application process opens on Monday, September 13 and closes on Friday, October 22, 2010. Funding decisions will be announced in January, 2011.
To facilitate the application process, CFAAC is offering two workshops for nonprofit organizations interested in the Ladders grant program. The first workshop, Outcomes & Impacts: Measuring Mission Fulfillment will be held on Thursday, September 2 in partnership with Maryland Nonprofits. The day-long workshop will be held at the Severna Park Community Center on Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard and will help Ladders applicants to develop an outcomes measurement strategy that can be incorporated into their Ladders application.
Detailed program and reservation information for this workshop is available from Maryland Nonprofits. Scholarships for this workshop are available from the CFAAC Celebration of Philanthropy fund.
The second workshop will be held on Wednesday, September 15 at the Severna Park Community Center and will offer a review of the Ladders application process. All potential Ladders applicants are strongly encouraged to send a representative to this free workshop - there will be ample time to ask questions about your specific program ideas. Register for one of two sessions (8:30-10:00 or 10:30-12:00). Reservations for the Application workshop can be made by calling CFAAC Program Director, Jan Hoffberger (410-280-1102 / jan@cfaac.org).
