Have you met ALICE®? ALICE is an acronym for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. The earnings of Maryland ALICE individuals and families are not enough to support a “survival budget” that is more than twice the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).
The ALICE Report, released by United Way of Central Maryland and other United Ways throughout the state, reveals that nearly 750,000 households—more than a third—in Maryland can’t afford the state’s high cost of living and don’t earn enough to afford basic necessities. The report provides a framework, language and tools to measure and address the struggles of the growing number of ALICE households in Maryland.
Join us to hear who is ALICE in Maryland, the findings from this report; and the perspective of a provider focused on this population. We’ll also discuss how ABAG members can help to put more Maryland families on the path to financial stability.
Our speakers will be:
Our moderator will be Angie McAllister, Vice President & Senior Program Officer of the United Way of Central Maryland.
This program is for ABAG members only.
